RISEN (2) - A STUDY ON EPHESIANS 2

Image
Hi there! Welcome to the sequel to our previous post. If you haven't already read through the post, I would kindly advise that you do so as it contains the passage we will be drawing lessons from today. You can read the previous post  here . So, let's get right into it! What important points caught my attention in Ephesians 2? I used The Passion Translation because I love its rendition of the chapter. I'll try to summarize so we don't have a Part 3😁 Verses 2-4 state that we were once in sin which is so true! We were all born with the nature of sin and born into a sinful world but then it says in verse 4 that despite this, God, who is holy, just and righteous, still greatly loved us! Don't know about you, but that alone makes me feel so special! I don't know what you might have done in your life, always remember that God still loves you... greatly. Verses 6-7: Everyone who has received Christ into their hearts as the Lord of their lives has been r...

CHRIST'S RESURRECTION IS YOUR RESURRECTION TOO!

Image
Hey there and happy resurrection! ☺️ Today I'm just going to share a passage of scripture that has gladdened my heart and causes me to give thanks everytime I think of what Jesus did for us. Before we get into it, might I remind you that our celebration of the finished work of Jesus isn't reserved only for Easter weekend?☺️ Our daily lives and actions should be full of thanksgiving for what Jesus did. It's the best we can give in return for the gift of salvation. I ask myself from time to time, what would our lives have looked like if we had no hope, no assurance in the time of trouble, no promise of light at the end of the tunnel, no one to turn to when things turn sour, no inner source of joy that is independent of our physical circumstances...? If you're like me, you don't even want to think about it. So, everyday of our lives, gratitude should be our response to God! Thank you Jesus!!!🙌🙌🙌 Now to our passage for the day. I'd like you to rea...

APPETITES

Image
Very interesting topic right? I was also surprised to find this out :). So I was studying the book of Genesis earlier this year and amongst other things, something that stood out to me was how some people's appetites put both themselves and their generations to come in big trouble! Let's look at some examples. Case Study 1: Esau (Gen. 25: 24-34) Most of us know how Esau's appetite made him forfeit his birthright in a heartbeat. He didn't even think about it simply because he was hungry! He was only hungry, not about to die... Sometimes, we are so overwhelmed with our current need, desires and situations that we make costly mistakes in our decision making, mistakes that will negatively affect our tomorrow. Don't allow a momentary circumstance leave a permanent dent on your bright future. P.S.: Jacob was very wrong to have taken advantage of Esau's vulnerability in that moment. However, Esau turned out to be a very forgiving brother. I know some people w...

Are You Safe?

Image
Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that the rate at which Christians are dying is steadily on the increase? More disturbing are the deaths by mysterious causes.  Indeed, the end is near. But these people are safe right now, they are indeed resting because they accepted Jesus into their lives. Are you safe? Will you really rest when you die? There's this thing I've seen before on Facebook that is usually done when a disaster has just occurred. A page will be opened and people residing in the area where the disaster occurred will be asked to confirm that they are safe by clicking on a button. God brought this to mind as I pondered on this topic. The statement "the end is near" sure scares some people,  but for some others, it's simply a reminder of the things promised by their first Love. If you are in the former group, I would like to beg you today to give Jesus a chance. I would be a terrible friend if I don't give you an opportunity to know...

Promises For You

Image
Happy New Year to you and yours! Here are some of God's promises to you this year. Yes, made specifically for you! "But as for you, Israel (insert your name) my servant, Jacob (insert your name) my chosen one, descended from Abraham my friend, I have called you back from the ends of the earth, saying, ‘You are my servant.’  "For I have chosen you and will not throw you away. Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.  "See, all your angry enemies lie there, confused and humiliated. Anyone who opposes you will die and come to nothing. You will look in vain for those who tried to conquer you. Those who attack you will come to nothing. For I hold you by your right hand— I, the Lord your God. And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you. Though you are a lowly worm, O Jacob, don’t be afraid, people of Israel, for I will help ...

The Story of Salvation

Hellooo! It's been ages right? I know! I trust you've been doing great, overcoming challenges and representing Jesus in your sphere! I have been tending to life events😁. Yes, I did tie the knot with my Sweetness😍 That gist is for another day but in summary, God is FAITHFUL! Today, in the spirit of celebrating our King - Jesus, I'd like to share a story God led Hubby to write. It explains salvation through a different lens. I hope that you not only enjoy reading it, but also share it  with someone who needs to see it. Salvation (To Save from Perishing…) “I think it’s time you had a son Sir”, said his brother, Codsh Ruach! “I think so too”, Elyon replied… “But I will have to make a palace for him: a place so beautiful and alive, a scenery that brings out his true potential, a place worthy of my power and my wealth. My son’s little sphere of influence before he matures to rule in his rightful place. I want something he will appreciate from the day of his birt...

NOT GUILTY

Image
Hi there! Thank you for stopping by today. I will be a little audacious today so I ask or your permission in advance. I don't care what you've done or how deep into evil you've gone. And guess what? God, your lover, doesn't care either. He's loved you consistently all this while and has been waiting for you to realize it.  His Son died so you won't have to go through the pain of hell, which is actually worse than physical death. You ask, is anything really worse than death? My dear, hell is. But God made a way already. How? He declared you " not guilty". You see, we were born into this evil and sinful world with the nature of sin in us. This is why it takes much more than a decision and determination to stop doing certain things... It's in our nature. But Jesus came, died for us, and gave us His righteousness in exchange for our sinful nature. However, you have to accept the offer. Many people wonder why there is so...
