CULTIVATE THANKFULNESS

Image
One year ago today, I was kidnapped.  Yeah, you saw that right... KIDNAPPED.  The whole ordeal lasted for a few hours, some money had to be paid, and I had a few bruises here and there but...the testimony is that I'm here today! Rather than wonder why it had to happen at all, I choose be thankful. Oh, I'm so thankfulllll! Besides, prior to that incident, there had been many other robbery incidents where my life was at stake, but GOD! So this is me saying ABBA, KEEPER, SUSTAINER, THANK YOU! In our local parlance, PAPA YOU DO WELL!!! I'm so grateful Father!  Alright, enough of my gist😁 Meanwhile, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU!!!πŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒ πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯ Such a blessed and wonder-filled year lies ahead for you! Your path will drip fatness, you will be led by God's Spirit every step of the way and light will shine on your path. You won't miss a turn neither will you miss His voice. It'll be your year of precision and accuracy in Jesus' name! One thing we must do more than ever t...

Purpose & Assignment (Part 2): Learning from the four Hebrew boys and Esther

Image
Hello! Welcome to another edition of purpose and assignment 😁 So, here are a few things that caught my attention as I studied Esther and the four Hebrew boys recently. I hope they are of great use to you especially in the coming year. See you at the end...🌞 🌲 Gather knowledge (Dan. 1:4). In the story of the Hebrew boys, one of the criteria for the men that the king would choose to serve his government was that they had to be "well versed in all kinds of wisdom ." (KJV) It's one thing to be a master in a certain field but to be versed in ALL kinds of wisdom? This meant that they couldn't be limited to the knowledge they got from their formal education, they had to be avid readers and voracious learners. Bear in mind that this was their own purpose journey and, as such, they risked missing out on God's plan for them if they failed in this criteria.  Important Tip : This wasn't a role God could play for them, they had to do this by and for themselves. Can yo...

Purpose and Assignment (Part 1): Learning 10 things from Joseph and Moses

Image
Hello! Welcome to Legacy Series! Let's dive right into learning from Joseph and Moses about purpose and assignment... 🌠 Gen. 37:4. Did you know that Joseph's brothers not only hated him for his dreams, but also because of the way he talked ? There's a 'way' visionaries speak. You won't catch them talking down on themselves or their dreams, or even on others. They are not proud or arrogant but they are confident (we'll talk about the source of this confidence later on). They also realise that there is power in the tongue and would rather use this power positively. 🌠 Gen. 39:7-10. Focus! Focus!! Focus!!! Distractions are real and they could be anything! Stay focused! Joseph could have been distracted by the appetite for sex just as Judah was in the previous chapter but he knew purpose was at stake. Pleasures would come later but for now, they were simply going to be distractions to him. Have you allowed something derail you from what ought to be your focus? ...

PEACE in the STORM

Image
Hiya!πŸ€— In one of my recent posts, I mentioned that we are in uncertain times. I believe that with each passing day, the times become even more uncertain and those who thought that they could easily predict the future based on previous trends, have seen that the times we're in are simply...different. In the midst of all this, it's very easy to get overwhelmed, frustrated, and possibly slip into depression because of the many thoughts of worry, fear and anxiety. But thank God for Jesus, our peace in every storm! We are sure that we will come out on the other side victorious and strong, because of Jesus. Our hope for a brighter and better future is found in Him, and He is our most important need and all-in-one solution in these uncertain times. This really isn't the time to be on the fence. More than ever before, it's a time to believe in Jesus and what He offers you! He is the only reliable Rock in these uncertain times.  People are dying everyday, not certain about w...

COMPARISON

Image
Hey there! How was September? Share it with me in the commentsπŸ˜‰! Meanwhile, today we'll be talking about a topic that plagues many people in our world - Comparison. If you remember Cain and Abel's story in Genesis, the Bible explains that Cain was angry that God received Abel's sacrifice but did not acknowledge his - Comparison . I believe Cain's envy didn't begin with the 'sacrifice saga', it was a seed that had been growing for sometime. His comparison of himself against Abel must have led to jealousy; jealousy led to envy; envy led to hatred; hatred led to murder! And he had to bear the consequences  of his action all his life! Comparison is a destroyer; give it one mile and it takes 10,000!  Jealousy and all its family members (envy, covetousness etc.) begin first with one thought of comparison. You know how you see something that someone else has and begin to wonder, " I don't have that. They look better or are doing better than me because o...

STAY

Image
It's very difficult to just... stay .  I know there are concentration lords among us, but really, for some of us it's a serious battle.  You may have seen some parents play that game with their kids where they put candies in front of the kids but ask them not to touch the candies until a certain time. It's always hilarious the things those kids do in a bid to just...stayπŸ˜‚. Some count, some wonder, some sing, some try to play...all the while hoping their waiting time could just come to an end😁 Aren't we that way sometimes? God places us somewhere and asks us to stay till He's ready (or we're ready) to move to the next phase. An idea. A business. A relationship. A job. A location. A career path... But then, things happen and it gradually becomes difficult to just stay where He has placed us. Challenges happen, comparison happens, unmet expectations happen, life happens, and it begins to get uneasy and uncomfortable to just...stay.   Like those kids, we want to...

Practice Hospitality

Image
Welcome!πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽŠπŸŽŠπŸŽŠ I have titled this post Practice Hospitality, because  all the points we will discuss, except one, relate to this.  Also, these lessons were taken from Romans 13 (NLT). There are many beautiful lessons in that passage (and I'd love to see your own lessons in the commentsπŸ˜‰), but I major on just four of them in this post. Let's dive in! 🌲"Always be eager to practice hospitality ." (V 13b) You may not like being hospitable, you may not know how to do it, or you may be a novice at doing it. Whichever is your case, practicing it will make you better at it. Keep doing it! Make it a job . Consciously and constantly go out of your way to be hospitable - whether you're a naturally kind person or not; be it to a stranger or to someone you already know.  Verse 16 says "Don't be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people." Ordinary may imply "not your typical friend", but we are to be hospitable to them anyway. I'm sur...
