Will This Bring Glory To God?💭

"But he who is uncertain [about eating a particular thing] is condemned if he eats, because he is not acting from faith. Whatever is not from faith is sin [whatever is done with doubt is sinful]."
ROMANS 14:23 AMP

"But the one who has misgivings feels miserable if he eats meat, because he doubts and doesn’t eat in faith. For anything we do that doesn’t spring from faith is, by definition, sinful."
Romans 14:23 TPT

HELLO!!!

It's been sooooooo long and I apologize sincerely 😁 I had a lot to sort out personally and for some reason, although I've been learning a whole  lot, I just wasn't up to sharing anything in the past few weeks... Well, hopefully, I'm back!

Today's discussion is actually one I wrote a long while ago but never got around to posting it because I didn't feel released to. It came to mind some days back and I think God will like us to discuss it now...

In recent times, there has been this rift about what is right/acceptable and what isn't, according to God's word. Many argue that some things which are currently deemed wrong aren't expressly written in the Bible and as such shouldn't be wrong to the believer. Some of these arguments have actually been around for ages. They are only more pronounced in our days.

Anyway, if you find yourself in such a controversial situation such as a debate about ladies putting on trousers, using makeup, physical intimacy before marriage, etc, firstly, I'd like you to ask yourself a simple question I was reminded of by my close friend: "Will this glorify God in me?"

There are two parts to this question; the first being "will this glorify God?" Many people fail to find out God's opinion on controversial matters. They seek every other person's opinion other than God's. Part of the reason may be that they already know what God will tell them and as such try to avoid it. For others, they are simply seeking a means to justify that action they are about to take as they have made up their minds to do what they want. I would ask you to think deeply and ask God before you take a decision on controversial issues: will this bring glory to God? Listen for the answer and be very honest with yourself. Don't be bent on doing what you want... Your life is not yours anymore. He owns it.

The second part to that question is "in me". The purpose of this is that God deals with people uniquely and then sometimes, as it pertains to the season they are in. For instance, someone who has been sent on an assignment to an undeveloped region may not be free to behave in the same manner as one in a developed region... That's a season. God also deals with us uniquely in the sense that what He  tells one person may not be the same thing He will tell another; He has unique assignments for them and the approach or method to accomplishing those assignments could also vary. So what is God saying to you personally concerning that situation?

A third point that may help is applying our anchor scripture: "...whatever is not from faith is sinful". The decision you're about to take, can it be seen by God  as being done in faith? Can you beat your chest and say I am doing this out of faith. Remember He. 11:6 which basically says that it is impossible to please God without faith. So if your action is not in alignment with your faith in God, or cannot be judged by God as a step taken in faith, then it's advisable to have a rethink.

Ultimately, any issue that does not settle with your spirit or ceases your peace should be left to lie. If it ceases your peace, then it's probably not worth the risk. Like another friend said, "provided it cannot kill you, you might as well let it slide". Funny enough, you may get a better understanding about that issue as you grow in your walk with God. So basically, be patient and don't jump into doing what you please.

Again, your life isn't yours anymore😄 Your choice matters little... What matters here is what will please God. Keep that in mind.

Before you go, thanks for reading. I'd like to know your thoughts. What advise would you give someone in such a dicy situation? Have you been in one before? What was it about (if you don't bother sharing😃) and how were you able to overcome it?

Thanks again for reading and dropping your comments!

Shalom!

Your friend,
Precious.
